HS2 And The Impact On Balsall Common Residents

HS2 Station

I’m really concerned about the impact on Balsall Common resident’s quality of life from HS2’s plans for lorry routes for the construction work.

The current plans could cause a loss of amenity along with an increase in noise, air pollution, and increased dangers to health, safety and wellbeing.

Saqib Bhatti and local councillors and I are questioning HS2 why they haven’t considered a dedicated haul route across HS2 land to avoid any of the aforementioned issues that would negatively impact the local community.

To help solve this, I have called a public meeting with Saqib, our Councillors and invited HS2 representatives so that local residents can raise their concerns directly with their local representatives.

The meeting will be held on the 7th of April at 7 pm. If you’d like to join, you can register here.

You can read the full letter that was sent to the Chairman of HS2 below.
